A national architecture firm has announced the release of an online sustainable design tool, which is offered for free on their website. The tool furnishes sustainable design strategies in a variety of categories such as Energy, Water, Waste, Materials, and Tools. According to an article on bdcnetwork, firms that utilize the tool (called the Matrix) may be able to apply sustainable approaches for little or no additional project costs. The sustainable strategies were developed to align with business strategies. The Matrix has already been in use for six years, having an impact on the design of over 90 projects. The strategies can be implemented even by those with no background in sustainability. The architecture firm that created the tool says they are sharing it with the industry because of the impact they believe it can have on the global sustainable design industry.
